Idea Cellular base crosses 7 million

Idea Cellular has notched up a subscriber base of over 7 million from its eight circles of operations in the country.

The company has added around two million subscribers during the last 12 months, registering a 40 per cent growth. The service provider all set to launch operations in three more circles in the country.

"Idea's commitment to provide a world class service is evident with this milestone. Over the years we have consistently upgraded and expanded our products and services to ensure maximum satisfaction. We owe this success to our customers. The seven million milestone is the beginning of a new journey in innovation, service expansion and service excellence," said Vikram Mehmi, chief executive officer, Idea Cellular.

In the coming year, Idea is set to launch operations in Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh (East) and Rajasthan.

At present, Idea Cellular has licences to operate in 11 circles. With a customer base of over six million, the company has operations in Delhi, Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Uttaranchal, Haryana, UP- West and Kerala.
