The 300,000 lakh sq ft, 3,000 people facility was 'e-launched' by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi at 'Connect 2006' earlier.
The new facility is located at the Olympia Technology Park in the city. Som Mittal, managing director and CEO, HP Global Soft Ltd, said the centre will cater to applications, infrastructure services and tech support.
The facility will start with an initial employee strength of 700 people and will be scaled up to 3,000 people in the next two years, he said.
Mittal said the company had an attrition of 15 to 16 per cent while the call centre operations was a bit more. The company had recruited 300 persons from the campus-hire programmes, he added.
