Now, 6-star luxury hotels!

December 16, 2004 11:20 IST
For the super rich who feel five star luxuries are too less, hoteliers in United States are rolling out a new class of six-star hotels.

The new genre of hotels will offer special amenities like personal butlers and private swimming pools.

"If you ask the rate," said one six-star hotel executive, "you can't afford it."

Among the new six-stars, Setal in Miami is a luxury property set to open this month. The room rates start at $900 (about Rs 40,000) a night.

According to The Wall Street Journal, hoteliers are rolling out the new class of over-the-top hotels and resorts as luxury travel rebounded recently. Other countries too may soon have six-star hotels.

Horst Schulze, former chairman of the Ritz-Carlton hotel company, says he is planning to launch a six-star chain next year in locations including an Austrian chateau as well as properties in Mexico, Ireland, Southern Italy and Atlanta (Georgia, US).
