Public sector HMT Ltd on Wednesday said it has signed an agreement with the United Kingdom-based Trantor Vehicles Ltd for exclusive worldwide rights to manufacture and sell Trantor's transport oriented tractors.
Trantor is a design and development firm which has developed the world's first transport oriented tractors featuring a range of two wheel and four wheel drive with fully suspended axles in 60 to 130 HP, HMT said in a statement in Bangalore.
An agreement was signed by HMT chairman and managing director M S Zahed with TVL chairman and managing director GAB Edwards.
"With this technology infusion, HMT will enter into the higher HP tractors with four wheel drive for the export markets," it said.
HMT has bagged orders for its tractors from Ghana and Bangladesh, besides exporting them to Nigeria, Senegal and Malaysia among others.
