HLL Q4 net down at Rs 511 cr

Hindustan Lever on Tuesday reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 1,890.53 crore (Rs 18.90 billion) for the year ended December 31, 2006 as against Rs 1,355.92 crore (Rs 13.55 billion) in FY05.

The company posted a net profit of Rs 511.18 crore (Rs 5.11 billion) for the quarter ended December 31, 2006 as against Rs 520.86 crore (Rs 5.20 billion) for the quarter ended December 31, 2005.

According to a release issued to the Bombay Stock Exchange on Tuesday, the total income moved up to Rs 12,803.90 crore (Rs 128.03 billion) from Rs 11,879.21 crore (Rs 118.79 billion) in FY05.

The board recommended a final dividend of Rs 3 per share of Re 1 each making a total dividend payment of Rs 6 per share for the year ended December 31, 2006.

The total income moved up to Rs 3,263.05 crore (Rs 32.63 billion) from Rs 3,038.53 crore (Rs 30.38 billion) for the quarter ended December 31, 2005.

"The results for the quarter are not comparable to those of DQ06 to the extent of amalgamation of Vashisti Detergents with the company, and the demerger and subsequent disposal of Doom Dooma and TEI plantation divisions," the release added.

The company, on a stand-alone basis, posted a net profit of Rs 1,855.37 crore (Rs 18.55 billion) for the year ended December 31, 2006 as against Rs 1,408.10 crore (Rs 14.08 billion) in FY05.

The total income stood at Rs 12,457.91 crore (Rs 124.57 billion) as against Rs 11,365.33 crore (Rs 113.65 billion) in FY05.
