Targetting the high-end segment, information technology company HCL Infosystems on Monday launched an integrated digital entertainment system in partnership with Microsoft and Intel.
The company targets to sell upto 7,000 units of the convergence product -- Beanstalk Neo -- which includes a LCD TV, DVD, MP3-CD player, radio, gaming tool, web browser, video recorder and is also broadband and wireless ready. The digital entertainment system is priced at Rs 99,000.
"Beanstalk Neo is a multi-functional product with total home entertainment features. We hope to sell around 7,000 units in the next nine months," HCL Infosystems chairman Ajai Chowdhry said while unveiling the product in Mumbai.
"To start with, we would push this product among high-networth individuals and the corporate top-brass like CEOs in the metros and other big cities. This is a product that can be used in offices of CEOs as well," said Rajan Rahi, national marketing manager, HCL Infosystems.
The Beanstalk Neo has been developed by HCL Infosystems, utilising Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Operating System and Intel's Hyper Threading technology.
Neo would be sold through HCL Infosystems retail outlets across the country, targetting initially eight cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore and
Lucknow.
Apart from the Neo, HCL Infosystems also unveiled a range of other consumer electronic products including digital cameras.
