Pradeep Guha may join Zee

The Subhash Chandra-promoted Zee Telefilms will soon have new group chief executive officer. According to sources, Pradeep Guha, president, Bennett Coleman & Co is expected to join the broadcasting company early next year.

When contacted Zee Telefilims spokesperson declined to comment on the issue.

According to sources, Guha will oversee the operations of all the broadcasting ventures of the company and will report directly to Chandra, who is the chairman of the group.

This means, Zee's Hindi, English and regional language channels will be his responsibilities.

Sources also said that the new sports channel planned by the company will be one of his primary responsibilities.

"Zee is betting big on cricket and sports broadcasting business. He is expected to play a major role there," said an industry source.

Guha, who is also a member of board of Bennett Coleman & Co, is also expected to be responsible for Zee's joint business ventures with other companies.

Guha's entry into the company comes at a time, when Chandra is venturing on a major growth path with its direct to home broadcasting venture as well as the planned launch of new channels and expansion of its channel distribution joint venture with the Turner called Zee-Turner.
