Google postpones public issue

Google Inc announced on late Thursday that it has postponed its initial public offering by at least a few days because of some logistical problems regarding the institutional investors.

Though Google had never announced any particular date for the IPO, sources close to the deal had pegged it for the second week of August.

Google's IPO, handled through a the unusual auction format is being led by Morgan Stanley and Credit Suisse First Boston.

Google is offering 24.6 million shares for more than $3 billion.
