Carmaker Ford India launched on Thursday a new customer support initiative -- Ford Roadside Assistance, under which it will offer round-the-clock on-site emergency breakdown service to its existing and new customers.
The service would be offered for a period of one year to all new Ford car owners, while the existing customers can purchase a service pack of Rs 1,100 per annum.
"Customer delight is the cornerstone of Ford Service and we want them to completely enjoy the ownership experience of a Ford car. This is a first such initiative in the Indian car market," Ford India Vice President Scott McCormack
told reporters.
Under the new service package, customers can access Ford Roadside Assistance through a national toll-free number for getting on-site assistance such as mechanic services for minor repairs, car towing if necessary, fuel delivery and help to unlock cars among others.
The company would initially roll out the service package in Delhi and NCR, Bangalore, Chennai, Pune and Mumbai and increase the coverage by 12 new centres by the end of next year.
Ford India has tied-up with Mondial Assistance for the initiative. Mondial partners Ford globally to provide similar services.
