In its effort to become profitable in the first year of operation, Next Gen Publishing, the joint venture between The Forbes Group and HDFC Ltd, on Wednesday said it would launch five special interest magazines this year and introduce more yellow pages.

"We have identified the special interest magazines and the yellow pages to be the main area of business. We are looking to be profitable in this financial year itself," Hoshang Billimoria, CEO, Next Gen Publishing said.

This year the company is planning to launch five special interest magazines, while one on photography is already out, he said, however declining to comment on the areas which will be covered by the new magazines.

Billimoria, who launched the Forbes Yellow Pages for New Delhi, said the company is focusing to become a serious player in the Rs 200 crore (Rs 2 billion) yellow pages market in India.

"We have already launched Forbes Yellow Pages in Ahmedabad earlier this month and the response has been tremendous. In Delhi we are looking to be the number one," he said, adding the company has a circulation target of about 5 lakh in Delhi and the NCR region.
