The government will come out with a policy on setting up of agriculture product outlets at railway stations within next two months, Minister of State for Railways R Velu said.

"A policy to promote agriculture products and distribution outlets with integration of transportation is under active consideration. A committee of executive directors has been formed to prepare a concept paper," he said in the Rajya Sabha.

Warehouses and outlets could be set up at 60-80 per cent of about 8000 railway stations in the country for stocking and supply of agriculture products, Velu said.

The government, he said, had invited public-private partnership in building of the infrastructure. Stating the concept was at a nascent stage, he said the four-member committee of executive directors would submit its report in a month's time.
