Buoyed by 'phenomenal' growth in India's training market, US-based ESI International, which provides consulting and training solutions, said on Monday it plans to expand its footprint in the country.

"We looked at the Indian corporate training market and found it attractive with its phenomenal year-on-year growth rate," ESI India Country Manager Pankaj Kejriwal said.

As the Indian corporations are going global, there is a market for players who can develop talent through localised and relevant project management and business analysis training in various verticals, he said, adding that as companies globalise, they would be spending more on training on technical and managerial issues.

Moreover, many global clients of ESI, who have an Indian foothold, look to ESI India for localised training programmes.

Identifying the potential in the region, ESI has recently opened a wholly-owned subsidiary in India.

ESI India manages clients work and business in Bangalore is also looking at other cities such as Chennai, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Pune.

ESI has more than 100 courses delivered in 18 languages at more than 75 locations worldwide. It has offices in Brazil, Germany, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, the United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom.
