Union Labour Minister Sahib Singh Verma said on Tuesday that the Central Board of Trustees would be meeting on May 31 at New Delhi for reviewing the interest rate of employees provident fund.
The Union finance ministry has been putting pressure for lowering the interest rate of EPF.
Talking to reporters in Udhagamandalam, Verma said the Centre was giving a serious thought to implementing the recommendations of the report of the Second National Commission on unorganized labour since this segment, which formed 93 per cent of the total workforce, lacked social security.
