Rao would join the global leadership team of EDS with effect from November 1, 2006. According to a release issued by Mphasis to the BSE on Tuesday, Rao will become the non-executive chairman of the company.
EDS had, earlier this year, acquired a majority ownership stake in Mphasis BFL.
"Jerry brings with him invaluable global experience across diverse positions, and will join our leadership team in shaping EDS' future strategy while continuing to provide leadership to Mphasis," Ron Rittenmeyer, COO of EDS, said.
