The UAE has been ranked among the top 10 preferred destinations for workers, attracting quality workforce from all over the globe with its vibrant job market, a survey has revealed.

The survey 'Relocating For Work', conducted by Manpower Middle East said that with the region growing as a popular destination for workers, the UAE was rated sixth among the top 10 preferred destinations, a leading gulf daily reported.

Besides, for workers already based in West Asia, UAE has been ranked as the first choice while, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain are ranked fifth, eighth and ninth respectively.

"The results of this survey are great news for the region," said Varina Nissen, managing director, Manpower Middle East, which has operations in the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.

The survey showed that 3.6 per cent of all respondents surveyed would be willing to relocate for a job anywhere in West Asia, as compared to 2.1 per cent who would relocate for a job in the Asia Pacific region or 0.3 per cent who would move to Africa.

"The challenge for employers in West Asia now is how to retain the talent they have in their organisations," Nissen was quoted by the Khaleej Times as saying.

"While it is an advantage to have so many workers who are open to relocation, it also means that these workers are more likely to relocate again if another company offers higher salaries or better career opportunities."
