Country's largest real estate firm DLF today entered the elite club of companies with a market valuation of over Rs 2 lakh crore (Rs 2 trillion), which has Reliance Industries and state-run firms ONGC and NTPC as its members.

The scrip of DLF Ltd today surged to an all-time high of Rs 1,224.90 in the intra-day trade but settled lower at Rs 1,205.55 on the Bombay Stock Exchange. The Rs 2,00,000-crore (Rs 2 trillion) market cap club had several other members, which are currently trading below the mark like telecom firm Bharti Airtel, state-run firms NMDC and MMTC.

Since its listing on July five last year on the bourses, DLF has been the second company to have more than doubled its market cap with a growth of over 110 per cent.

Its market cap on the listing day was Rs 97,000 crore (Rs 970 billion), which soared to Rs 2,05,528.19 crore on Monday.

Reliance Energy has witnessed its market valuation grow over four-fold, while Reliance Industries saw a surge of 90 per cent and Larsen & Toubro rose 85 per cent during the period.

Unitech, the second largest real estate firm in the country, has a market cap of Rs 85,228.50 crore (Rs 852.28 billion) and stands at the 17th rank in terms of market valuation. Besides, IT major Wipro had touched the coveted market valuation way back in 2000, when the IT boom was at its peak.

Market capitalisation charts are topped by Reliance Industries with Rs 4.67 lakh crore followed by ONGC (Rs 2.75 lakh crore), NTPC (2.34 lakh crore). DLF comes at the 4th position in market cap charts.

Bharti Airtel stands at the 5th rank with a market cap of Rs 1.72 lakh crore, followed by Reliance Communications (Rs 1.66 lakh crore), NMDC (Rs 1.63 lakh crore) and MMTC (Rs 1.62 lakh crore).
