Dish TV ties up with Disney's South Asian arm

Dish TV has tied-up with Buena Vista International Television-Asia Pacific, the international television distribution arm of Walt Disney, to provide Hollywood blockbusters on its Movie on Demand service. The service gives Dish TV subscribers the opportunity to watch English movies from multiple shows of the chosen movie within 24 hours at Rs 50 per movie.

The movie can be ordered through simply sending an SMS, through phone or by logging on to the Dish tv website. The company already offers two Bollywood blockbuster movies every week at a nominal price of Rs 40 per movie.The movies, claims the company, will be made available to Dish tv users within a span of just 5-10 minutes of ordering.

Jawahar Goel, Business Head, Dish TV, said, "Dish TV has been a pioneer in providing DTH and all value added services to the Indian consumer. The special and unique service of English Movie on Demand is another first move which enables our consumer to enjoy the latest Hollywood blockbusters at their own convenience & in their own households".

Dish TV subscribers through the English Movie on Demand service will now have access to a slate of box office hit movies from Walt Disney Pictures, Touchstone Pictures and Miramax across all genres.

The subscriber can watch action movies such as Gone in 60 Seconds, The Recruit, Pearl Harbour, fictions such as The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, thrillers such as Dark Water, Enemy of the State, Signs, The Sixth Sense, romantic titles such as Casanova, Pretty Woman, comedy movies such as Herbie: Fully Loaded, Bruce Almighty, The Princess Diaries, Runaway Bride, Three Men & a Baby, The Waterboy and not to forget drama with titles such as Cinderella Man and Flight Plan to name a few.
