The company is in the final stage of taking a decision on capacity enhancement at the centre in two months. "The Mohali contact centre with 1,500 employees is doing well. We will increase our headcount in this region," Romi Malhotra, managing director said.
In addition to the contact centre operations, the Mohali facility also performs consumer technical support operation.
Employees come from states such as Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, and Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Malhotra, the quality of manpower, infrastructure, and government support have encouraged the company. Malhotra
said peripheral and support services in the region needed to be strengthened to attract more companies to the region.
"Services like transportation, building, cafeterias and maintenance cater for bigger set-ups. Currently we have to outsource these from Delhi," said Malhotra.
There should be more flights from Chandigarh to Delhi, ensuring that travellers can reach Chandigarh in the morning and leave for Delhi by evening, according to Malhotra.
"If colleges start training in the last six months of the graduation programme, we will not have to invest in it and it will help individuals learn faster," Malhotra said.
"Recently we opened our facility in Mohali and now we are looking forward to having our fourth facility. We are looking at the North as well as the Western parts of the country for this facility," Malhotra said.
