A Hong Kong court has allowed the extradition of Ashok Tabilram Sadarangani, allegedly involved in committing forgeries in two public sector banks in India to the tune of Rs 8.45 crore (Rs 84.5 million).
CBI sources on Monday said a communique from Interpol, Hong Kong, has been received and the agency would soon send a team to bring the fugitive.
Sadarangani had escaped from India after allegedly committing the forgeries and on a tip-off from Interpol, Washington, the Indian authorities had informed immigration authorities in the United States, South Korea and Hong Kong.
The accused was nabbed in Hong Kong in December last year when proceedings for his extradition had been initiated.
