General Motors India on Wednesday launched two variants of its mid-size car Opel Corsa.

The models christened 1.4 GSI and 1.6 GLS have been priced at nearly Rs 543,000 (ex-showroom Delhi) and Rs 579,000 respectively, a company statement said.

GMI said the two new cars would be directly positioned as better value for money vehicles on features and price over other mid-size cars like the Ford Ikon and Hyundai Accent.

The 1.4 GSI has features like power steering, central locking, power windows and tachometer while the 1.6 GSI would have additional features like premium upholstery, defogger and flush wheel covers.

"The new models launched with enriched features and value additions will give us tremendous competitive edge over other players of the segment as both the variants have been priced aggressively," GMI president and managing director Aditya Vij said.

GMI is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the world's largest automaker General Motors Corp and produces the Corsa, station-wagon Corsa Swing and premium sedan Opel Astra at its plant at Halol in Gujarat.

It also sells imported vehicles like the luxury sedan Opel Vectra and sports-utility-vehicle Chevrolet Forester.
