US-based IT company Compuware Corporation opened its first India office in Bangalore on Tuesday.
The company, which acquired the Denver-based Proxima Technology for $31 million earlier this month, announced that it was looking at acquisitions in India.
The company, which makes integrated IT management solutions, said it will target the top 100 firms in India as its customers by the end of this fiscal. Compuware has a partnership with Satyam Computers.
The Bangalore office will have about 30 to 35 employees. Compuware may later open offices in Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Chennai.
"India is definitely a key market for us and we will look at acquisitions. Although we have not identified any firms yet, companies which align with our strategies will be on our radar," Country Director of Compuware India Sachin Khanna said.
The company has been operating in India through its partners for the last eight years. Overall, Compuware Corporation has over 7,500 employees in 16 countries.
The company's clients include General Motors, Seimens and Bank of Canada.
