Prices of computers and charges for Internet connections may be reduced soon, Union Minister of State for Communication and Information Technology, Shakeel Ahmed said on Tuesday.
The United Progressive Alliance government was considering a reduction in the rates of computers and internet connections, Ahmed told reporters in Ajmer.
Post offices having a minimum staff of three people would be made multi-purpose through computerisation, he said.
Additional post offices would be opened in villages and in hilly areas to make them easily accessible to people living in remote areas, the minister added.
