Commexes to open for muhurat trading on Diwali

Commodity exchanges -- MCX, NCDEX and NMCE will open for 'muhurat trading session' for at least 2 hours on Tuesday evening for all commodities on account of Diwali.

MCX and NCDEX have fixed muhurat trading from 1815 to 1945 hrs, while NMCE from 1815 to 2040 hrs, the exchanges said.

NCDEX said the timing will be same for domestic traded commodities and for global commodities like bullion, metals, crude, polymers and carbon credits.

On the occasion of Laxmi Puja, all future contracts will be allowed to trade during muhurat session only and there will not be any trading during morning hours, the exchanges informed.

Client code modification on NCDEX will be allowed between 1945 and 2000 hrs, while on MCX and NMCE it will be at 1945 to 1950 hrs, they said.

The total turnover of three national exchanges stood at Rs 2,81,524 crore (Rs 2815.24 billion) during second fortnight of September.
