Cognizant Technology to hire 5000

Buoyed by the second quarter results, the Nasdaq-listed Cognizant Technology Solutions has announced its plans to hire 5,000 people by the year-end, thus taking the company's total headcount to 14,000.

"We are planning to add another 5000 people during the January-December period," Lakshmi Narayan, president and CEO, Cognizant, said, adding about two-third of the new recruits will be for the company's India operations.

Cognizant has reported a 57 per cent increase in revenue at $138.7 million in the second quarter of this fiscal.
