CNBC TV18 signs pact with Tata Indicom

CNBC TV 18 has signed an agreement with Tata Indicom broadband to launch its video-on-demand service. As per the deal, CNBC will provide content to Tata Indicom broadband for a fixed fee, which will enable all Tata Indicom subscribers to access CNBC's live as well as archival content.

Ajay Chacko, head of marketing, TV 18, said, "Our arrangement with Tata Indicom broadband is essentially to increase our penetration levels. Our video-on-demand service will enable customers to have access to all content. We will be the first television channel to offer video-on-demand service."

This service is likely to be operational by mid-January and charges would be applicable for users per download.
