$3.5 mn Citi grant for finance school

Citigroup India on Thursday announced a $3.5 million grant to the Indian School of Micro Finance to be set up in Ahmedabad.

The School will cater to the needs of micro finance practitioners like NGOs, micro-finance institutions, bankers and policy-makers in the area of financial education and equip them with requisite skills to build, manage and monitor sustainable micro finance programmes and organisations, Citigroup said in a release.

The School has been founded by Sewa Bank, Friends of Women's World Banking and the Coady International Institute of Canada.
