Cisco appoints Owen Chan as sr VP

Cisco Systems has appointed Owen Chan as senior vice president, Asia Pacific operations.  Chan will be based in Hong Kong and report to Richard Justice, Cisco's senior vice president of Worldwide Field Operations.

Chan has been with Cisco for six years and was previously vice president of North Asia. Chan joined Cisco in 1999 as vice president of customer advocacy for Asia Pacific/Japan.

Prior to joining Cisco Systems, Chan spent 15 years with General Electric in Asia Pacific, where he was vice president (sales and service) for GE Information Services.

Chan is replacing Gordon Astles, who is retiring from Cisco Systems after 13 years with the company.
