May 16, 2003 21:11 IST

The Confederation of Indian Industry will accompany a high-level delegation of Indian Members of Parliament to the United States from May 19 to 23 as part of efforts to foster better bilateral trade ties.

During the five-day visit to New York and Washington, the MPs would have an opportunity to interact with senior US policy makers, prominent Indians based in the US and leaders across a wide spectrum, a CII release said on Friday.

The names of the MPs were not released.

Apart from having a meeting with Senator Hillary Clinton, Permanent Representative to UN Vijay Nambiar, and Indian Ambassador to US Lalit Mansingh, the delegation would also visit the New York Stock Exchange.

CII President Anand Mahindra and Director General Tarun Das would be representing the industry, while there would be 6 MPs from both houses of Parliament.
