Former Cisco India chief executive Manoj Chugh has joined information storage solutions provider EMC Corporation as the head of its sales operations in India and the South Asian Association for Regional Co-operation region.

"I am very confident about Manoj, who has spent over two decades with leading IT companies. I am positive that he will further strengthen our position in the market by bringing his leadership and extensive experience from Cisco Systems and Scientific-Atlanta to bear on EMC's sales operations in India," Steve Coad, general manager (south Asia), EMC Corporation, said.

Chugh was previously at Cisco Systems. During his three-year stint at Cisco, Manoj helped the company more than treble its revenues and positioned it as a market leader in the networking space.

Prior to joining Cisco, Manoj had set up the operations of Scientific-Atlanta Inc in India, and helped it achieve a leading position in the country's DAMA V-SAT market.

During the early part of his career, Manoj had held several key positions in sales, business development and general management, with Wipro.
