"Both the Chevrolet Spark and the Aveo U-VA have won the top awards for quality in the India Automotive Initial Quality Study announced by J D Power Asia Pacific 2008. The double victory validates the growing popularity of Chevrolet brand in the country and GM India's commitment to produce world-class vehicles for this market," GM India said in a statement.
While the Chevrolet Spark was ranked first in the compact car segment, the Aveo U-VA won the award for the best car in the premium compact segment, it added.
Chevrolet Tavera has also been ranked second in the multi-utility vehicle/ multi purpose vehicle segment.
"These prestigious wins from J D Power, coming the second year in a row, clearly serve to reiterate that Chevrolet has become the preferred automobile brand in terms of quality and customer delight," GMI president and managing director Karl Slym said.
The repeated wins were the results of GM India's single-minded focus on its Chevrolet consumers and the commitment to offer "best-in-class" products, he added.
