Suppose i hold to some stocks for 4-5 years and when i decide to sell them, if the market has gone down dramatically down, what is the whole purpose of holding on to them for these yeasr? how can i avoid this?
PRANAV SANGHAVI answers, Well, in the four to five years that you have held on the markets will surely be at a higher level than what you had purchased at even after a great fall at that time. Say for example, If you had bought in 2002-2003 when the Index was around 3000, and you decided to sell in 2006 the index at its lows of 8,000 levels is more than double than that of the 2002-03 levels.

PRANAV SANGHAVI answers, Allahabad Bank is a good midcap bank. I would recommend to hold on.

PRANAV SANGHAVI answers, Not necessarily. On a longer term it would return back to its current price. Like in 2003 they gave a 3:1 bonus. The rate at that time was 4,500. Today it is 3,000. Post bonus in 2003 it did go to 1200 or 1500 if am not mistaken. But hold on.
