shruti : I am being told that you own nucleus soft..are u planning to reduce your holdings or u want to stay invested for next 1-2 years..Why is the FI holding is so low in nucelus despite analyst meet ?.what kind of returns you expect in 2 years from current levels for nucleus.
Ramesh Damani : i won Nucleus Software, I can't say what I may or may not do in the future. The company has delivered excellent results. Check article on Nucleus in Financial Times, May 11 for some insight.

maxdxb : Hi ramesh sir, Maxim here. Can you please suggest few small mid caps.? Tks for logix, encore.
Ramesh Damani : No new ideas.

deepinsight : Liquidity in small caps: Have seen liquidity disappear suddenly- how do you manage this problem?
Ramesh Damani : By having conviction in what I am buying.

JK : Sir, disappointing results from Balaji Tele :-( Would you recommend a hold or exit at these levels?
Ramesh Damani : I am holding.

deepinsight : Madhucon Project –seems to be better on number of criteria compared to Nagarjuna Constructions – netter margins, lower debt, high book to sales ratio. Any views?

Ramesh Damani : Sure it could.

ahmedabadguy : Mr. Damani as you said you have sold of BEML little early..Please take a look at Gujarat Apolo equipment( bse listed )1:1 bonus, market leadership in construction equipment,A sound stock to look at...

Ramesh Damani : I don't follow all of them but Sical and Bharti Shipyards are having a good year.

sanujkadavil : SirFall in shaw Wallace stock making the merger plans more easier. Even at this rate they can go for 1:2 ratio for SWC:McD merging.one Mcd every two SWC share. I think this limits the short term upside for mcdowell , whats your call
Ramesh Damani : I can't figure out why Shaw Wallace is falling so much.

sanujkadavil : siri think scripts are not updating???????????any problem there
Ramesh Damani : Veery slow connection. It is now okay. I think.

Ramesh Damani : Not that I have heard of. Did you know that Warren Buffett's son is on the board of this company.

HugeFan : Sir, I am following you from last couple of months and become a huge fan of yours. I read almost all of your transcripts in Rediff since 2004 and also reading some of your suggesting book. I think "The intelligent investor" is a must to anyone who want to involve in this business. On your suggestion, and with my own conviction, I made GAIL, Nucleus, NTPC, MRPL, SAIL and Tata Elexsi as my core holding. I am still sitting with some cash and want to know if there is anything you want me to add in my core holding at the current price. Thanks once again for all your suggestion and guidance.
Ramesh Damani : I would look at Interantional Travel House. (115). It makes sensefor patient investors.

Nirav : Sir, I purchased 500 shares of UB holding at 322.50 rs. Can I sell this and purchase a Mount everest. If this is your holding then what can u do? Pl. replay me.

Ramesh Damani : That should be enough for you to understand.

vivek : sir i have done some analysis and find that suraj diamonds is value buy at CMP...do you agree?
Ramesh Damani : These stocks have always been cheap.

barrracuda : balmer lawrie please review the results
Ramesh Damani : Logistics business is booming. Tourism will turn around and the rest are still spotty.

mnv : Damaniji-- i made lot of money because of your suggestion of MCDOWE, UBHOLDING,GATI.. i still hold them.. I want to enter AEGIS. What is your pick in cement sector ?
Ramesh Damani : Good you did well. No idea in cement.

sanujkadavil : SirWarren buffet has bought significant stake in anheuser buch. Company has strong presence in world's largest beer market china through harbin. Do you see any possibilities that investment in indian liquor companies from the big dady
Ramesh Damani : That would make my day, but I doubt he does it at this m-cap.

shruti : does this mean china has huge potential for nucleus..what will be gestation period as per your estimate
Ramesh Damani : One year.

Nidhin : Hi Sir, What is your view on Teledata and Carol Info? Are both these companies good for 5-6 months? Whats your take on Polaris?

Ramesh Damani : I would look at it.

vivek : " these stocks have always been cheap"..Sir you think patient investors will be rewarded one day like UBH...Thanks
Ramesh Damani : They may well. However I see no great triggers in these business.

ssss : sir amomg the aravind mills and rajtexchem which one u prefer please reply thanx
Ramesh Damani : They are 2 different companies. Raj Texchem should give a maiden dividend. I trade in it.

mansri : Sir, KALE CONSULTANTS – despite having orders worth over Rs. 200 crore on hand, why the co. has shown topline of just Rs. 16 cr. in the 4th qtr. What is the trouble with this co.? why the orders are not translated into business & profits? pl advise.

Ramesh Damani : Holding forever is not equal to one year.

sanujkadavil : SirHow would you rate the following news…Miguel Torres and French winemaker Mr Alexander Thienpont, world's elite wine makers,.They all agree on one thing: With a growing middle class keen to keep up with international lifestyles, India is going to be one of the major emerging markets for big winemakers. Champagne indage runup heavily in last months, trades at a market cap of 110cr . Your call on wine industry
Ramesh Damani : Hard liquor, beer is where it is at. Wine stocks are not great ooportunities in my view. The rich prefer imported wine.

chandani : sir.. FORBES GOKAK YOUR VALUABLE INSIGHT IN THE STOCK CURRENTLY AT 320 CMP..P L E A S E..
Ramesh Damani : Probably do well.

ahmedabadguy : Sir do you feel that now investors should be very choosy in purchasing small cap stories as lot of them currently floating in the market and those are indications of market taking a dip sooner then later......
Ramesh Damani : One should always be careful.

shruti :  for scaling the business they (nucleus)should hire people at brisk pace..why are they talking about adding only 300 persons in next i year
Ramesh Damani : Service companies need to hire not product companies.

ssss : sir do u think krone communications will going to benefit by broad band revolution
Ramesh Damani : Yes, they will benefit from it.

Nidhin : Hi Sir, Thanks for the Reply..I didnt understand you statement "carol info is trading at cash value " ? Does this mean its a good buy? Do you recommend any other stocks in the mid-cap or small cap?

Also its surprising that during Construction boom Property Insurance cos are not riding the boom ? Any ideas there ? - Your value fan
Ramesh Damani : none at this time. Construction firms are booming actually.

vvinay : sir,in airlines business in India 80% cost are fixed and cannot be changed as per Mr.Naresh Goyal this no frills/low tariff strategy may not work with airline business as we had seen what happened to damania/east-west etc
