"Our offshore operations in Andra Pradesh, Eastern India and in the Bay of Bengal off Bangladesh are working as normal," the company said.
Cairn Energy is exploring for oil and gas in the Krishna Godavari deep sea, off the Andhra coast, and operates Ravva oil and gas fields, which produces 54,000 barrels of crude oil every day.
"There was no damage or impact to the Ravva field, which Cairn operates off the Andra Pradesh coastline," it said. The Sangu gas field and on-going drilling operations in the Bay of Bengal are also working as normal.
The company offered full support and assistance to the authorities in both areas to help deal with the effects of the Tsunami.
"Cairn Energy intends to make a donation to aid those affected by this terrible disaster. A payment will be made in the coming days to the relief fund set up by the Prime Minister of India," the release said.
The British firm's main office in Chennai was unaffected although damage was caused to the homes of some of the 370 people who work there.
