September 01, 2006 15:50 IST

Businessworld has stolen the lead over Business Today in all-India readership, according to the National Readership Survey 2006.

Businessworld has registered a 30 per cent growth in readership and gone ahead of BT and Business India with 680,000 readers, while BT and BI declined by 11 per cent and 21 per cent, respectively. This is Businessworld's second straight year of growth.

Businessworld has also maintained its readership lead in the top 8 metros, the survey says. More than 50% of Businessworld readers are from the Rs 10,000 plus group.

"We thank our readers for making Businessworld India's number one business magazine. It's special on the occasion of our 25th anniversary. It gives us one more reason to celebrate," said Vikas Gupta, president, Businessworld.

V Natarajan, general manager, Businessworld, adds "For the past year, we have focussed on circulation activities which have borne fruit now. We have always been aggressive with regular campaigns in mass media, and we feel that the rest of the year will continue to be as exciting".
