A bureaucratic reshuffle in half-a-dozen ministries will mean that the United Progressive Alliance government's second full Budget will come from a different team.
But expenditure secretary Adarsh Kishore and revenue secretary KM Chandrasekhar, who were associated with the last Budget, remains in the team.
Ashok Jha has been appointed economic affairs secretary in the finance ministry. He has replaced Rakesh Mohan, who will be returning as deputy governor of the Reserve Bank of India, a post he had held till October last year.
Jha, a 1969 batch IAS officer from the Andhra Pradesh cadre, was secretary in the department of industrial policy and promotion.
Jha will be succeeded by Ajay Dua in the industrial policy and promotion department, who will be moving from the office of the Directorate-General of Employees' State Insurance Corporation.
Satwant Reddy, a Punjab cadre officer, will be taking charge at the chemicals and fertiliser ministry as secretary. She, at present, is a special secretary in the consumer affairs department.
She will replace Pratyush Sinha, who has been transferred to the rural development ministry.
Officials sources said Sudip Bannerjee, additional secretary in the human resources development ministry, was promoted to the post of secretary in the same ministry.
He will take charge of the department of secondary and higher education. He will succeed BS Baswan, who retired on Thursday.
