The Bombay Stock Exchange has suspended trading in 52 companies with effect from September 20 for failing to comply with various provisions of the listing agreement.

The list includes companies like Lakhani India, Jindal Online, Gee Gee Granites, Alka Securities, Jalgoan Re-rolling Industries, M P Telelinks, Monalisa Infotech, Siyaram Poddar Finance & Trading, Numero Uno Projects and Vallabh Polyplast International, among others.

The action by BSE comes as per the provisions of Securities Contracts (Regulation) Rules, 1956 and rules, by-laws and regulations of the exchange, which authorise the stock exchange to suspend defaulting companies, according to an official release issued on Wednesday by the BSE.

"Accordingly, despite being given various reminders and subsequent show-cause notices, 52 companies have failed to comply with various provisions of the listing agreement till the period ended December 2005," the release said.
