Cinthol declared a Superbrand

Cinthol, the flagship brand of Godrej Consumer Products Ltd, has been recognised as a Superbrand by the Superbrands Council, UK.

The criteria for winning the award were perceived brand image, brand mind share, goodwill with consumers, consumer loyalty, trust and emotional bonding with the brand.

Cinthol with its heritage of over five decades was successful in creating a niche in the consumer's mind and win the award.

Superbrands India had identified 101 Indian brands from 700 entries across 98 sectors for inclusion in the first ever 'Indian Consumer Superbrands 2004.'

Superbrands India constituted a committee of high-powered opinion leaders to evaluate all brand entries received for being adjudged Superbrands for the year.

Speaking at the occasion, Hoshedar K Press, Executive Director & President, GCPL said, "I am happy that Superbrands India has conferred this award on Cinthol. The

Cinthol brand has always strived to give consumers high quality products and despite the brand being over 50 years it has not aged but has grown as an energetic entity."

The Superbrands Council has been tracking the branding phenomenon for the past 10 years. Superbrands India, an independent body comprising advertising, marketing, research and media professionals mandated to recognise excellence in branding and promote the discipline of branding itself, has announced the much anticipated first list of the winners of India's very first 'Oscars in Branding' -- The Superbrands.
