HTMT buys Bangalore call centre

August 19, 2005 12:17 IST

Infotech and BPO major Hinduja TMT has acquired Immaculate Interactions Ltd, a Bangalore-based outbound call centre, specialising in telemarketing. The financial details of the acquisition were not revealed.

This acquisition would enable HTMT to offer a comprehensive range of services to its customers, in addition to the existing inbound customer support, technical help desk and non-voice backoffice processing services, HTMT said in a release in Mumbai on Thursday.

This would also help the company to move closer to achieving a strong leadership position in the third party BPO space in India and worldwide, both in voice and non-voice segments, it said.

Immaculate has a presence in the UK and Australian markets, the acquisition is expected to complement HTMT's reach in English-speaking markets. Already, the company has a strong presence in North American markets.

HTMT will receive Immaculate's management team, apart from around 51,000 square feet in Bangalore from the acquisition.  This is the company's third acquisition, as earlier in October 2004, HTMT has acquired Source One Communications Inc of the US for $8.5 million. SOC has operations in New Jersey, Toronto in Canada and Manila in Philippines, through a subsidiary called Source One Communications Asia.

SOCA is a joint venture company set up in 2001 between SOC, holding a 57.5 per cent stake and Customer Contact Center Inc C3, Manila, which holds 42.5 per cent ownership.
