Automobile major Bajaj Auto on Friday said it was "concerned" that the Japanese auto giant Honda may have an "aggressive pricing strategy" with its planned entry into the country's booming motorcycle market in October.

"We are concerned, but we are not worried," R L Ravichandran, vice president (sales and marketing), Bajaj Auto, told reporters in Bangalore during the launch of Bajaj CT 400 bike.

Honda's Indian subsidiary, Honda Motors India Ltd, has already emerged as the market leader in the ungeared scooter segment, holding over 50 per cent share with its Activa.

Reports say that Honda is launching its motorcycle in October this year.

Asserting that Honda, a global leader in motorbikes, would come out with a good product, he said, "They will also be aggressive in their pricing."

"They have become market leaders in Activa through their pricing and will have a good strategy to capture a significant market share in India," Ravichandran said.

"If they had come five years ago, it would have been difficult for us but now we have a chance (to take on Honda)," he said, adding that if not by beating Honda, Bajaj would grow its market share with product innovation and good after sales service.
