Autodesk launches new versions of visual FX, finishing systems

Autodesk Inc, the world's leading design software and digital content company, on Thursday announced the launch of new versions of visual effects and finishing systems in the Indian market.

The 2009 releases include Autudesk Inferno, Autodesk Flame and Autodesk Flint software for visual effects systems and the Autodesk Smoke software finishing system.

The release of these softwares will be showcased at Autodesk's Asia Pacific Systems 2009 roadshows across Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, New Delhi and Bangalore.

"The 2009 releases to Autodesk's visual effects systems provide digital artists with the reliable, flexible and interactive toolsets required to stay ahead of the competition," Autodesk's Regional Manager, Systems -- China, India and south-east Asia, Pankaj Kedia told reporters.

Today, viewers are demanding increasing visual sophistication, he said, adding, "In order to meet this demand, our customers rely on Autodesk solutions to differentiate themselves by delivering high-value
content and extreme productivity."

Autodesk's visual effects and finishing sytems have been used to create numerous blockbuster films including all three Oscar-nominated movies for best visual effects -- The Golden Compass, Transformers and Pirates of the Caribbean 3.

The Indian animation industry is also growing at 20 per cent per annum and the company has plans to expand its activities in the Indian market, Kedia said.

Nasdaq-listed Autodesk Inc is the world leader in 2D and 3D design software for the manufacturing, building and construction, and media and entertainment markets.
