Clutch Auto to set up JV in US

March 27, 2006 11:46 IST

Clutch Auto plans to enter into a joint venture with an US-based tractor component manufacturer to supply clutches and related components for tractor market in the country.

The American partner will supply products to original equipment manufacturers as well as after market sales service through its 3,300 odd retail outlets across the markets of US, Canada and Mexico.

The clutches will be supplied from CAL's plants in India. "The JV will be signed by the end of April and will allow CAL to penetrate the markets of northern America. We want to prioritise our export base in the US before thinking of any other markets," said VK Mehta, vice-chairman and MD, CAL.
