Toyota rejigs senior management in India operations

Japanese auto major Toyota announced top level management changes in its Indian arm with Sandeep Singh, Deputy Managing Director (Sales, Marketing, Customer Service & Commercial Divisions) slated to move for a new role in its Asia Pacific operations.

The company, which is present in India through a joint venture with the Kirloskar Group - Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt Ltd (TKM), said the new organisation structure will be effective from April 1, 2014.

Singh will be moving on to Toyota Motor Asia Pacific Engineering & Manufacturing (TMAP-EM), headquartered at Bangkok, as Executive Managing Coordinator.

"In his new role, he will head the Planning Group at TMAP-EM. His role in TMAP-EM is effective from April 1, 2014,"

TKM said in a statement.

Simultaneously, N Raja, Senior Vice President and Akitoshi Takemura, Senior Managing Coordinator will jointly take charge of Sales & Marketing functions at TKM, it added.

The company further said T S Jaishankar, Executive Vice President & Director, will be responsible for Commercial functions and Hitoshi Iwanaga, Senior Vice-President will take charge of customer service functions.

Yesterday, French auto maker Renault said Sumit Sawhney will be Country CEO and Managing Director for the Renault Group's operations in India, replacing Marc Nassif, who would move to a global assignment within the group.

Likewise, Ford announced a top level change in its Indian operations, appointing Nigel Harris as President replacing the incumbent Joginder Singh.
