Tata Group firm Land Rover said on Thursday it will launch two advanced diesel versions of its sports utility vehicle, Range Rover, in the UK by September this year.

The new range of SUVs -- 2011 Range Rover -- will come with V8 diesel engines powered by 4.4 litre and 5.0 litre engines.

They will be Euro V emission norms compliant.

"The 2011 Range Rover retains its position as one of the world's most complete luxury vehicles. Its combination of reduced CO2 emissions and superior engine performance continues to make it a clear industry benchmark," Land Rover managing director Phil Popham said.

While the 4.4-litre LR-TDV8 Range Rover will boast of eight-speed automatic transmission, the 5.0-litre LR-V8 version will run on six-speed automatic transmission.

Besides this, the company will launch a limited edition of the iconic SUV model with special design elements.

"At the top of the range, the new Autobiography Black 40th anniversary limited edition offers customers the option of complete exclusivity with unique colourway combinations as well as striking interior and exterior design features," Land Rover design director Gerry McGovern said.

The company will manufacture only 700 units of this edition for sale across the world, he added.

Earlier last month, Land Rover had said that its first diesel hybrid sports utility vehicle will hit the roads by 2013, for which testing of the prototype titled 'Range-E' would start by this year-end.

The British marque had also announced the addition of 275 new jobs at its production facility in Solihull, West Midlands, to meet the rising demand after sales improved for many consecutive months.

In September last year, with the global economic recovery on the horizon, Jaguar Land Rover had announced a decade-long new business strategy that would see 800 million pounds (over Rs 6,200 crore) investment going into developing eco-friendly products.
