New imported Audi A4 at CKD prices

February 04, 2008 13:10 IST
Audi India of German luxury carmaker, Audi, is planning to offer its new imported A4 model at the CKD (complete knock down) version price.

The company is expected the launch this model in India in July and would start assembling it at its Aurangabad plant in Maharashtra later this year.

The price difference between the existing A4 model, when the company started assembling in November last year, and the imported version was Rs 2.1 lakh.

Audi India managing director Benoit Tiers said the price of new imported A4 would be the same as that of the CKD version as the company does not want different prices for the same model.

"We want to launch all new products in the Indian market as soon as they are globally launched," Tiers said.

With the luxury car sales growing at an estimated 50 per cent year-on-year in India, he said the company was hopeful of crossing the sales target of 3,000 units by the year 2010.

Audi already has seven dealerships, including the one at Hyderabad. It is planning to open new dealership showrooms in Chennai and Kolkata among other cities next month.
