Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has described as 'successful and very satisfying' his interaction with a spectrum of corporate heads, scientists and technologists from all over the world during his 3-day stay at Davos during the World Economic Forum.

He listed Boeing Corporation, Bombardier of Canada and Sony Corporation as some of the MNCs who had evinced keen interest in setting up facilities in Hyderabad and agreed to send exploratory teams for the purpose.

Most of them expressed interest in setting up either development centres for structural designs or BPO facilities here, he said.

The two cola giants -- PepsiCo and Coca-Cola of Atlanta  -- also agreed to consider set  up agro-based plants in the state, especially packaged snacks and new lines of beverages not being produced in the state.

Cisco Systems, which already has five centres for networking for Internet in AP,  also agreed to consider interlinking all the 220 engineering colleges in the state.

Naidu said he also held discussions with the senior executives of Volkswagen and suggested that they consider Andhra Pradesh for a possible location in the event of their deciding on establishing manufacturing facilities in India.

Dell Computers, Du Pont, Computer Associates Inc. Boston Consultancy and Nestles were the others to whom he talked about the prospects of investments in Andhra.

To  a question whether he could quantify the investment that would come as a result of his three-day sojourn in Switzerland, Naidu explained that Davos was not the place where investments commitments were made.

"I have visited Davos for the fifth time this year. I am now able to talk to a broad cross section of top corporates. They have also been able to understand the potential Andhra Pradesh  offers and the pro-active leadership the state has. The climate has now been created and it will be through follow-up that some concrete results will emerge," he said.
