Tennis legend Vijay Amritraj is scouting for investment opportunities in India and Bollywood production ventures are also something on his radar.
Los Angeles-based Amritraj says he and brother Ashok are talking to partners in regard to film production ventures.
"We are looking at a few opportunities. We are looking at some partnerships in LA. He (Ashok) has his own company; I have my own. We all do different things on our own. But we have been involved in film industry. We will continue to be involved in film industry," Amritraj said.
". . . not necessarily in Hollywood or only in Bollywood. But it could be a mix of both. We are talking to some partners as well. So, there is a lot of interest."
Amritraj, who is on the board of Bangalore-based Air Deccan and also a founding member of the Board of Leela Hotels, also said he is keen make investments in India and is looking for "good opportunities."
"There are a lot of things we are looking at," the 52-year-old said, adding, he is working with "other groups" in making investments in this country.
"It (proposed investments) is not necessarily in Bangalore. It's across the country. . . and coming with enough investments to be able to participate in Indian investments."
Amritraj declines to talk about the size of investments that he and "other groups" proposed for Indian ventures, noting that "it's a very private industry."
"I always feel the good news about adventure in business. . . it does not have to be public, right ?" Amritraj, who twice reached the quarterfinals of the Wimbledon, says with a smile.
