Reliance Industries vice chairman Anil Ambani on Thursday met Pradeep Baijal, chairman of Telecom Regulatory Authority of India.
The meeting assumes importance in the wake of reports that the country's largest private telecom player Reliance Infocomm will go to one of the warring Ambani brothers while the other would have the flagship company RIL as part of settlement on the ownership issues of the Reliance empire.
Details of what transpired during the meeting between Anil and Baijal were not known immediately.
Anil, involved in a public wrangling with elder brother Mukesh, had met Home Minister Shivraj Patil on Wednesday night.
According to available reports, Ambanis are considering valuation report of ICICI Bank chief and a family friend K V Kamath of the family assets that could be the basis for the settlement.
Sources said Kamath, in his report submitted to Kokilaben, widow of group founder Dhirubhai Ambani last month, had suggested that while one brother could have the control of RIL and IPCL the other should be given Reliance Infocomm and some other companies from the Reliance stable.
