Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh on Thursday said the Central Bureau of Investigation had questioned him in connection with the alleged bribery scandal involving Flex Industries and a senior excise official.

"I told them that I have resigned from the board of directors of Flex Industries," he told a television channel.

The CBI had arrested Flex Industries proprietor Ashok Chaturvedi for allegedly bribing Commissioner of Central Excise (Delhi) Someshwar Mishra.

The agency had also arrested the excise official in September 2001.
