Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa on Tuesday described the new Bengaluru International Airport (BIA) as 'shoddy' compared to other airports in the country.
"It's shoddy compared to all airports in India," he said at a function at Vidhan Soudha, the State Secretariat.
Presenting a progress report to the people on the occasion of his government completing 100 days in office, Yeddyurappa made no secret to his displeasure vis-a-vis BIA.
"I will not allow such things. We need an
airport of international standards," Yeddyurappa said, but did not elaborate what the government proposed to do in this context.
He also said the government aims to have either airport or airstrip in all district headquarters in the next two years.
