Gulf Air, National Carrier of Bahrain, on Tuesday launched its inaugural flight which took off from Baharain at 00.05hrs for Hyderabad.
Jointly addressing mediapersons Hyderabad, Capt Christopher, Vice-president Flight Operations, Richard Hrische, Regional General Manager, Asia and Rajeev Nambiar, General Manager, India said that Airlines Network Streteches from Europe to Asia and Hyderabad is the eighth destination in India.
The daily non-stop service between Bahrain and Hyderabad will be served by an Air Bus A 320-200 with Buisness and Economic class providing two-way connectivity to many other major markets within the region.
The airline is in the process of purchasing 24 Boeing 787 aircrafts costing $6 billion and have signed a deal with Boeing Company. The air line is also planning to re-fleet itself over the next five years to strengthen its presence, Capt Christopher said.
Presently, the GA Operations over 275 flights per month offering as much as 50,000 seats to eight Indian destinations including Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkatta, Mumbai and Trivandrum.
"This new route is another example of successful and long-established relationship between Bahrain and India and Gulf Air, as the national carrier of the Kingdom, is proud to be a part of this growing relationship," Capt Christopher said.
"Hyderabad is our eighth Indian destination and we hope to further expand our relationship by adding two more destinations in India within a year, " he added.
India is a booming economy and Hyderabad, as the fifth largest Indian city, is full of opportunities and an important market for us", a release by Gulf Air said.
